Questions regarding Phone sensors

Four observations/questions:

1. In one of my apps that uses the phone sensors, I forgot to add: sensor.Initialize(sensor.TYPE_xxxx) under Activity_Create. Nevertheless the: Sub Sensor_SensorChanged (Values() As Float) event still fires and correctly gives the 3-axis values depending on how the device is held. Are sensors now part of the IDE?

2. I read everywhere that TYPE_ORIENTATION is deprecated (since 2013). However, it still seems to work, or am I mistaken? What is the best method to...
